2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)
If the Fast and the Furious is the older brother who is dark, smart and serious, 2 Fast 2 Furious is the younger brother who is flashy, silly and careless. Paul Walker once again goes undercover to redeem himself from the actions of the first movie. Vin Diesel doesn’t return for this installment so Tyrese Gibson, Eva Mendes, and Ludacris join the party. The story runs along the lines of ex-cons, who really aren’t that bad, must take down a drug dealer. Sounds pretty plain and hokie, right? Well it is, but the perks of the movie come from the beautiful cars and people in the movie. It’s a bling show, and on that front, it does deliver. Co-starring Cole Hauser and James Remar.
7/10 Stars – It is what it is – flashy, fast and sexy. Not serious at all.
If you read our review of The Fast and The Furious you know that I love this series. But if I had to pick one film of the series that really wasn’t a shining star it would be this one. It has the sexy cars and sexy men. Its funnier than the first one but I am not sure that is a good thing. The plot overall is just blah, it tries to hard. This is definitely the step-child of the series. But the redeeming qualities are definitely the cars and Paul Walker.
7/10 Stars – Not great but still worth watching for the fast driving and sexy cars.
