30 Minutes or Less (2011)
30 Minutes or Less is an action/comedy movie about 2 dumb moronic criminals (Danny McBride, Nick Swardson) who kidnap and strap a bomb to the local pizza boy, Nick (Jesse Eisenberg), and demand he rob a bank for them. With not a lot of time to get the task done, Nick seeks out his ex-best friend, Chet (Aziz Ansari), to help. Insanity ensues as Nick and Chet run all over town trying to get away from the police, assassins and the 2 guys who are behind the whole thing. As you would expect with any Danny McBride movie, crude humor and gags fill the screen. Nick Swardson plays his typical role of the oddball nerdy pushover. Jesse Eisenberg, fresh off his performance in The Social Network, performs like characters from his previous roles in Adventureland
and Zombieland
, with rambling dialogue and an uneasy confidence. With a running time of 83 minutes, 30 Minutes or Less will not take up much of your time if you don’t like it, so it’s worth a look if you like the talent on display. Co-starring Michael Pena.
7/10 Stars – Funny, Crazy and the Flamethrower at the end is GREAT!
