50/50 (2011)

50/50 is a story about a man named Adam (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) who learns he has Spinal Cancer at the age of 27.  His best friend (Seth Rogen) is by his side and  helps to make light of every situation.  Adam tries to go on living with a mother who is over sensitive (Anjelica Huston), a girlfriend who cheats on him (Bryce Dallas Howard), older chemo buddies who are about to die from their cancer, and a therapist who is still in school (Anna Kendrick).  The character of Adam is based on Will Reiser, the writer of the movie.  Seth Rogen is a friend of Will Reiser and convinced him to write the script based on their experience together.  50/50 is both funny and emotional and Rogen and Gordon-Levitt have great chemistry together.  You won’t be disappointed watching this movie.

8/10 Stars - Charming and funny, and emotional as well.
