Based on the popular board game, Clue is a movie that revolves around the board game characters (Prof. Plum, Col. Mustard, Miss Scarlett, Mr. Body, etc.). They are all summoned to a secluded house in the middle of nowhere and are greeted by the butler, Wadsworth (Tim Curry). None of the people know why they are there until Mr. Body shows up and tells them a secret. Just as in the game, Mr. Body ends up dead but who did it? and with what? The where isn’t really in question here but all the “rooms” are in the house and are mentioned and shown frequently. As everyone searches, questions and accuses, humorous situations take place as they try to figure out just who killed Mr. Body.
If you have spent any time watching Comedy Central over the last 10 years, then you probably stumbled over this movie several times, since Clue is shown often, and there is a big reason for that. Clue is one of those movies that isn’t talked about a whole lot, but if you were to mention it to someone, they would know exactly what you are talking about and wouldn’t have anything negative to say about it. Why? It not only grasps the idea of the board game, but it’s funny and has a couple of good comedic actors. Tim Curry, Christopher Lloyd, Michael McKean, Eileen Brennan and Martin Mull, big named comedic actors of the 80’s, all appear in this film. Another cool fun fact about this movie is when it was in theaters, depending on what theatre you went to, you would only see 1 of the 3 endings that appear on the home version. Clue appears very high on my personal top 100 list for a reason and if you haven’t had the time to see it, watch it! You will have a good time.
10/10 Stars – Always up for a viewing of Clue… funny, silly and good feel of the board game.
