Cher (Alicia Silverstone) and Dionne (Stacey Dash) are super rich teenagers living in Beverly Hills. They are the typical – or what you would expect at least – pampered upper class girls who don’t care about their grades and just want to be popular and shop. But Cher has another side to her, she has this urge to help people less fortunate than herself. So to fulfill that urge she spends her time match making and improving for everyone around her. Meanwhile she doesn’t realize that the ultimate match, her own, is right in front of her face and she nearly misses it. Also starring Paul Rudd, Brittany Murphy, Donald Faison, Breckin Meyer, Dan Hedaya, Elisa Donovan, Jeremy Sisto, Wallace Shawn and Twink Caplan.
At first glance you may not realize it but Clueless is actually a revamped version of Jane Austen’s (who is my #1 favorite author of all time) 1816 novel Emma. I wouldn’t call Clueless an award-winning film but it definitely is an entertaining one. Alicia Silverstone plays the role of the rich preppy girl with a heart perfectly. And the two older teachers who she brings together played by Wallace Shawn and Twink Caplan are just adorable. This movie also amazing deals with a lot of teenage issues like partying, sex, drugs and more in a good way for the most part. It has realistic dialogue that is comedic. Love this movie, it’s a fun feel good romance that every teenage girl should see. I think it looses a little of its value if you weren’t brought up in the 90’s but still will be entertaining for the younger generation. Oh and this is on my personal top 100 list!
9/10 Stars – Great mindless entertainment, and something every teenage girl would enjoy!
Even for the guys out there, Clueless was a huge teen his during the 90s to the point that I’m pretty sure that anyone between the ages of 27-37 can probably quote this film word for word. Clueless made Alicia Silverstone and gave her the fame she had during the late 90s. Teen girls wants to be her and guys wanted to date her. Clueless has tons of charm and laughs that any teenager (even the ones of the 21st century) should see. Attention Paul Rudd sighting!
9/10 Stars – The charm is seeing this when you are a teen, if not, you might not get it all!
