Written and directed by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Memento, Insomnia), the movie Inception is about a team of extractors who are blackmailed into attempting the impossible, an Inception. You see, extractors are able to infiltrate your mind when you sleep and steal ideas, thoughts and valuable information. When you wake up, you know they were there, but they have the information and that’s what matters. An inception, placing an original thought, is virtually impossible because, even if a team were able to implant an idea into someone’s mind, they’d have to make the person think they came up with it on their own or else it wouldn’t stick. When one of the team’s extraction jobs goes wrong, the man, whose mind was infiltrated, blackmails the team into attempting a inception for his own financial gain.
Making my personal top 100 list, Inception is like most of Christopher Nolan’s films; full of detail and an original plot. It was nominated for 8 Oscars including Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay, and it won 4, all in areas of cinematography and sound. Inception is intriguing, well made and will make you think from beginning to end. In fact, if there had been anymore information presented, I think my brain would have exploded. It has plenty of action to go with its intellectual aspects and the scene with the fight in the hotel hallway is something I’ve never seen in a movie. Inception has a wonderful all-star casting including Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, Dileep Roa, Ken Watanabe, Michael Caine, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, Pete Postlethwaite and Tom Berenger.
9/10 Stars – Totally original and will blow your mind!
Read above…I pretty much agree with my husband on this one. It was a fantastic film. You will probably have to watch it twice just to make sure you didn’t miss anything.
