Law Abiding Citizen (2009)
His Review:
Directed by F. Gary Gray (The Negotiator, Friday, The Italian Job), Law Abiding Citizen is the sad tale of Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler), a man who takes the law into his own hands after his wife and daughter are murdered. Clyde’s lawyer Nick (Jamie Foxx) takes a deal which gives the accomplice to the murders the chair and the true killer only 5 years in prison. When the 5 years are up, Clyde brutally murders the man who really killed his family and is arrested for it. When the same judicial system that failed him tries to come down hard on him, Clyde decides to teach the legal system a lesson once and for all.
I will just announce now that anyone who sees this movie will either love or hate the ending, based on which side your heart lies. You will either feel the pain that Clyde endured and believe he should get away with his revenge, or you will side with the law and feel that no man should be a vigilante. Either way, Law Abiding Citizen is a violent and suspenseful crime thriller that will keep you glued to the screen for whatever reason. The all-star cast includes names such as Bruce McGill, Leslie Bibb, Colm Meaney, and Viola Davis as well as the 2 mentioned above. If you are a fan of suspenseful mystery thrillers, then this is worth a look.
7/10 Stars – Good mystery that stars likable names.
