Megamind (2010)
His Review:
Megamind is the animated story of a criminal mastermind named Megamind (Will Ferrell) who finally is able to beat his good counterpart Metro Man (Brad Pitt). However, with no ying for his yang, Megamind is lonely and feels he has no purpose. When he is able to collect some of Metro Man’s DNA, he creates a new “good guy” (Jonah Hill) who ends up being anything but. Megamind has all of Will Ferrell’s charm wrapped up in a large, blue headed freak. The smooth animation and rich colors are also nice additions to the movie. The movie starts off a little off the wall, but it begins to take form and the charm sets in. Tina Fey’s character helps Megamind see that it’s not what is on the outside that matter, but what is on the inside. Due to this lesson she teachers, Megamind turn from a not-so-good bad guy into a great good guy. Megamind is a very good quality family movie that will entertain both young and old. Also featuring voices from David Cross, J.K. Simmons and Ben Stiller.
8/10 Stars – Colorful, charming and funny. Shrek-like from Dreamworks.
