The Lincoln Lawyer (2011)
The Lincoln Lawyer is a courtroom thriller starring Matthew McConaughey as Mick, a defense attorney who has taken a case where the defendant, Louis Roulet (Ryan Phillippe), feels he has tricked everyone. Without giving too much away, Mick also has a plan of his own to expose Roulet for the killer he is without going against confidentiality laws. The Lincoln Lawyer is tense, suspenseful and a quality thriller with a good story. McConaughey does a great job as the sly attorney who won’t be screwed with, and his bodyguards are a nice touch. Even though it is not John Grisham, it can hold par with anything he has put out. Co-starring Marisa Tomei, Michael Pena, William H. Macy, Josh Lucas and John Leguizamo.
8/10 Stars – Great cast, with a solid suspenseful story.
For those women reading this the first thing I will say is that I know you are used to seeing Matthew McConaughey as the pretty boy in a romantic comedy. And while you might be inclined to look past The Lincoln Lawyer, don’t. You still get to look at McConaughey and better yet he has a tough bad boy attitude. Lincoln Lawyer has a gritty, court room drama feel but takes things a step further. A great watch with a few twists to keep you entertained.
8/10 Stars – Ladies give it a chance, you won’t regret it
