The Man Who Knew Too Little (1997)

His Review:

Wallace Ritchie (Bill Murray) is a nutty and cooky fellow who comes from “Blockbuster Video, Des Moines, Iowa” all the way to London to surprise his brother James (Peter Gallagher) on his own birthday.  Wallace shows up unannounced on the night James is to give a big presentation so James decides to send Wallace off to experience the new murder mystery show everyone is raving about, “The Theatre of Life,” until the meeting is over.  James tells Wallace that his meeting will be over before midnight so the 2 of them can light up cigars to celebrate Wallace’s birthday before it ends, but when Wallace receives the wrong phone called to start his “experience,” he ends up in a real situation that he still thinks is a show.

If you are looking for a wild and crazy hilarious adventure than Billy Murray acting the fool in The Man Who Knew Too Little is perfect for you.  A very tongue-in-cheek satire making fun at all the intellectual spy films, nothing in this movie is meant to be taken seriously and everything seems to be a place on words or lack there of.  Wallace is constantly doing things unknowingly that either get him out of harms way or injure someone else and he even goes as far as yelling “cut” to redo a “scene.”  It isn’t the best made movie, but it sure is freaking hilarious!  If you haven’t seen or heard of it, get your hands on a copy!  Co-starring Alfred Molina,  Joanne Whalley, Anna Chancellor, Richard Wilson, and Geraldine James.

9/10 Stars – Highly funny and nutty comedy showing off Bill Murray’s zany talents!
