This Means War (2012)
Her Review:
Two CIA operatives, FDR (Chris Pine) and Tuck (Tom Hardy) are inseparable partners and best friends, that is until they fall for the same amazing woman, Lauren (Reese Witherspoon). They come to a gentlemen’s agreement and decide that they will both date her and let the best man win. Currently on desk duty for screwing up their last mission, Tuck and FDR take dating to a whole new level using CIA surveillance techniques and resources so that they can win the girl.
This Means War would definitely not be my first choice for viewing pleasure on a Saturday evening. The plot wasn’t exactly anything new just had an added twist on the top that was kinda stupid if you ask me. Acting is mediocre at best and while even I enjoy a silly movie this one just made me feel dumb and I don’t like it when a movie makes me feel dumb. Sorry but I have high expectations from my romantic comedies because there are so many made and its these kinds that give romantic comedies a bad name.
4/10 Stars – I got way too distracted watching this, wasn’t worth my time.
His Review:
This Means War was the kind of movie you watch because someone else has it on, and before you know it, it’s over and you wonder why you sat down and wasted your time. The premise to the movie is kind dumb and the whole story regarding the operative side of things is just crammed into the movie. I never really cared who she picked out of the 2 guys and never saw a romance even forming. These 3 stars have been able to carry their own movies in the past, but putting them together here just isn’t a good mix.
5/10 Stars – Pointless plot and not really that entertaining, these 3 need better material.
