Under The Tuscan Sun (2003)
Her Review:
Frances (Diane Lane) is a writer in her mid-’30s who discovers her husband is cheating on her and is soon going through a divorce that turns her life upside down. Seeing how miserable she is her best friend Patti (Sandra Oh) decides she needs to get away, and gives her a first class ticket to beautiful Tuscany. While there Frances is dealt the hand of fate when she discovers a dilapidated old villa. She, with some trepidation, buys the villa and embarks on a life journey that leads her to true happiness and love in the heart of the Italian countryside.
Under the Tuscan Sun is one of my go to movies when I am having a rough time in life. The beautiful Italian scenery and the Frances’s struggles and successes at starting life again after a devastating divorce is uplifting for my soul. You can’t help but love every part of this movie. Granted it isn’t the best acting, or even the best plot out there but its simple nature is what makes it so wonderful in my opinion. I have a smile on my face every time after watching it. The only real downside to this movie is that it constantly makes me want to buy a house in and move to Tuscany. But then who wouldn’t want to live in such a romantic and beautiful place where life is simple.
9/10 Stars – A great film for anyone just looking to add a touch of happiness to their day!
